Ban Tong Fay

History

        Ban Tong Fay village is located in Chang Keung sub-district, Mae Chaem district, Chiang Mai province, was established more than 120 years ago with a population of 727 in 156 houses. The villager's main occupation is agriculture. They have plantations of red onions, rice and gourd etc. Side occupation is weaving "Teen chok cloth" both for homeuse and for sale. Ban Tong Fay's Teen chok cloth is very famous because the patterns are very fine and beautiful. There are many products such as neckties, scarf, picture frames, blouses and cloths etc.

Homestay

        You will stay in one of the villager's houses with their family. Enjoy the cultural experience and learn about Thai cooking and the original way of weaving using the homemade machine following the families traditional methods. Practice weaving the former beautiful pattern or create new patterns with your style. Besides you can participate in the agricultural plantations and enjoy the cool shady rural environment there are plenty.
